I am 30 years old and have been crossfitting on and off for 4 years. Anytime I took time off from crossfitting, I missed it terribly and no other workouts sufficed. That’s when I decided that I loved it so much that I wanted to coach the sport. I received my level 1 certification last year and am excited to start coaching. I have 2 little boys 3 and 1. I work full time at Werner Enterprises in the logistics department and also work part time as a server at Kona Grill. I also take ballroom dance lessons. I am an incredibly busy person, but I knew I needed to find time to keep this a part of my life.
My favorite lift is the snatch and deadlift. Both require so much power and control of the body. My dream/goal is to educate people on the functionality of crossfit and how its not just for super fit people. Being able to move and move well into our old age is something that is lacking in a lot of people, not just elderly people. I want to be able to teach and train people how to move their bodies and move objects in the most safest and efficient way.

In 2014, Katelyn earned 7th place in the individual competition at the CrossFit NorthCentral Regionals. She has been involved in several other team competitions such as Heartland of America where her team placed 1st in 2012, Tac Fit Games, as well as the Battle of the Bluffs. She has past experience in gymnastics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, nutrition coaching, personal training and education in herbalism.
Katelyn is a loving mother to her three year-old daughter. She will also soon become a beautiful bride and step mother of three.
I grew up playing basketball and soccer, so competitive sports is what I know. I decided to go a different route in college and not play at the collegiate level, so finding something to fill that void was a goal of mine. It was in 2013 where I found CrossFit. I received my CrossFit Level 1 Certification in 2016 and have since been coaching classes and helping clients with personal training development. I also have a passion for nutrition. For the past several years, I’ve been helping clients understand the importance of fueling their body with foods that allow them to perform at their best. I love helping athletes, but I also love to help the every day member whose goals are different than competition. Fostering a healthy relationship with long term health is my number one goal with my community.
I graduated from UNO with a degree in accounting and received my MBA from Creighton University. I have been working in the corporate world since 2011 and have always felt something was missing. My passion for fitness and helping people achieve their best self drove me to want to do more than just coach, and that’s why I stand here today as the new owner of CrossFit Papio.
I am 25 years old and have been competitively exercising “CrossFit” for 4 years. After getting my Level 1 CrossFit Certification I had the opportunity to coach and have been a coach for 3 years now. My favorite movements to coach are the Olympic lifts, there is something so beautiful about the snatch and clean and jerk. My dream is to one day have my own Kids Crossfit Program and be able to compete at the regional level individually and games level as a team, hopefully both of those things are in my future! I work as a preschool teacher during the day. I don’t have any kids, but I do have a 7 month old German shepherd who is just like my really heavy baby. My family is just like the Brady bunch, I am the oldest and my youngest half brother is 8. I grew up playing sports, and I love how CrossFit takes me back to those team sport days. I was a competitive Irish dancers from 11 to 18 years old, which allowed me to travel the United States for different competitions.”

Bryce Teager has been involved in the area of strength and conditioning since 2002. He graduated from Wayne State College with bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and an endorsement in coaching. At Wayne State, Bryce was a 4-year starting running back and also participated in indoor track.
After college, Bryce interned with the strength and conditioning program at Kansas State University. He was also a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he ran the volleyball as well as the men and woman’s basketball strength and conditioning program. While at UNO, Bryce started to learn about CrossFit and incorporated it into his athlete’s training. Bryce’s first CrossFit competition was at the Midwest Regionals in 2009 where he placed 7th as an individual competitor.
Bryce took a break from competing in CrossFit to focus on his mixed martial arts (MMA) career in which he became the Midwest Cage Championship lightweight champion. Bryce used CrossFit workouts to supplement his training as a mixed martial artist.
In 2012 Bryce starting coaching at CrossFit Omaha and competed on CFO’s regional team in 2013. As a coach, Bryce realized that CrossFit was having a very positive impact on everyone who participated in it. Not only were the members benefiting physically, but many of them were also significantly improving mentally and emotionally. According to Bryce, “There is just something about pushing yourself to the limit, hitting PR’s, improving the way you move, and becoming more athletic that can really increase a person’s confidence and just make them feel better about life in general.” The improvements he saw in the members fueled his passion to help people become the fittest, healthiest, and best person they could be.
Bryce is also a firefighter for the Papillion Fire Department. He is a father to 4 children (Zoe, Brock, Maddie, and Ava) and a husband to CFP head coach, Katelyn Teager. In addition to his passion for CrossFit, he is always trying to educate himself about other areas of health including nutrition, stress management, sleep, recovery, and using herbs and food as medicine.

Jake Brower began his journey with CrossFit in August of 2014 as a Founding Fifty Member of CrossFit Papio. With an extensive gymnastics background, and a long history with a variety of sports (baseball, basketball, football, skiing, snowboarding, wake boarding, diving, surfing, golf, etc), CrossFit was a natural fit from the beginning. His athletic background, combined with a passion for people, and history with coaching made the transition from CrossFit athlete, to CrossFit trainer a natural one.
When he isn’t at the gym, Jake is the Lead and founding Pastor of Finding Life Church here in the Omaha metro. He is husband to Anne Marie, and father to children, Sadie, Neal and Maggie.

Jacob Chandler is a Founding 50 member of CrossFit Papio. We could tell instantly that Jacob had an extensive background in athletics. His strength and endurance is off the charts and being a former high school and college athlete allowed him to pick up on coaching quickly. Our favorite thing about Jacob is his enthusiasm and team spirit. Jacob is a natural coach he loves to motivate and encourage others.
Jacob was a standout high school basketball and football player earning all state honors in both. After high school Jacob continued athletics as a Linebacker for the University of Nebraska Omaha where he earned 2nd team all conference and academic all American honors. At UNO Jacob was introduced to CrossFit from CrossFit Papio coach Bryce Teager.
Jacob is currently a Fire Fighter for the City of Omaha. He and his wife Rachel have a son Clayton and another on the way! When not working out or on the job Jacob loves to spend time with family and be outdoors. Hunting is a passion and love to watch and participate in sports, basketball, softball, volleyball, etc.
My Journey with CrossFit began in 2008 when there was only 1 Box in Omaha, which operated out of a local university weight room. I then went on to receive my Level 1 Certification at CrossFit Ethos in Laguna Hills CA in 2013.
I am from Kearney Nebraska originally and graduated from Doane College where I played football. Following College I joined the Marine Corps and was stationed in California at Camp Pendleton. I spent 4 years in the Marine Corps as an Infantry officer where fitness is a necessity to function. I have always been fascinated by fitness, health, and love a challenge. CrossFit falls into all three.
I truly enjoy working with people and helping them challenge themselves. Life is a sport and it is not meant to be watched from the sideline. CrossFit allows people to identify weaknesses mentally and physically, providing the opportunity to get better every day with real results. There are only two things you can control in this world; attitude and effort, we all must work to stay strong in both.
I now love living in Omaha with my wife Lindsay and am a Real Estate Professional at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. Some of my other passions include cooking, traveling, and spending time with my family. I look forward to getting to know you soon.
